Biography

A writer and editor with an MA (Distinction) in Creative Writing from the University of Nottingham and a First-Class BA from the Open University. Over the past five years, Keir has worked professionally as a writer and editor, creating content across formats while developing my craft through intensive academic study.

His background combines creative and commercial writing: He has written fiction, creative nonfiction, and audio dramas alongside professional articles, blog posts, and marketing content. He has also managed editorial workflows, assessed manuscripts for quality and suitability, and provided writers with feedback to help them produce their best work.

Keir is particularly drawn to roles that involve story development, working with authors, and helping bring compelling narratives to readers.

In his writing life, Keir loves literary fiction, speculative fiction, sci-fi and fantasy, and magical realism, influences you can clearly see in the works of fiction available on this site. He is also especially interested in audio as a publishing medium; as a dyslexic writer, he is a lifelong audiobookworm, and he created his own audio drama as part of his MA, which you can listen to on his fiction page.

Before transitioning to writing, Keir studied science and philosophy, then spent over a decade as a head brewer at several independent craft breweries, giving him a background in business. He is, in short, fascinated by the world and happy to write about any given subject.

Keir is currently seeking roles that allow him to combine his narrative understanding, editorial skills, and genuine enthusiasm for storytelling.
